These Sweet Sticky Bourbon Peach BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders are messy, ridiculous, and exactly what you want at a backyard cookout or a lazy Sunday dinner. The bourbon-peach sauce caramelizes into something that’s almost too good to share, and the cool, crunchy coleslaw provides the perfect contrast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup peach preserves
  • 1/2 cup your favorite BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 pounds cooked pulled pork
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 12 slider buns (brioche recommended)
  • 1 cup creamy coleslaw mix
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh chives or green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the coleslaw first. In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar, 1 teaspoon sugar, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Toss with 1 cup coleslaw mix and set aside in the fridge.
  2. Start the bourbon peach sauce. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup peach preserves, 1/2 cup BBQ sauce, 1/4 cup bourbon, 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1/4 teaspoon cayenne (if using). Stir and bring to a gentle simmer. Let it bubble for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened slightly.
  3. Warm the pulled pork. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 2 pounds cooked pulled pork and warm through, stirring occasionally, for about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Combine pork and sauce. Pour about 3/4 of the bourbon peach sauce over the warm pork. Reserve the rest for brushing on buns. Stir until pork is fully coated. Cook together for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Toast the buns. Split 12 slider buns in half. Place cut-side up on a baking sheet and broil for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden. Alternatively, toast in a dry skillet over medium heat for about a minute.
  6. Assemble the sliders. Brush the cut sides of the toasted buns with reserved sauce. Pile a generous spoonful of sticky pork onto the bottom half of each bun. Top with a small handful of creamy coleslaw. Garnish with fresh chives or green onions if desired. Place top bun on and press gently.
  7. Serve immediately. Arrange on a platter, drizzle any remaining sauce over the top, and serve warm.

Notes

If sauce is too thick, add a tablespoon of water or apple juice. Toast buns to prevent sogginess. Use room temperature pork for better sauce absorption. The flavors improve after a day in the fridge.
