Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (about 12 oz / 340g) refrigerated pizza dough
  • 8 oz (225g) sliced pepperoni
  • 2 cups (200g) shredded whole milk mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup (60g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 tablespoons (56g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Marinara sauce for dipping (optional)
  • Mozzarella sticks or provolone slices for extra gooeyness (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish lightly with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Roll out the refrigerated pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a roughly 12×16-inch rectangle.
  3. Cut the dough into 12 equal squares (about 4×4 inches).
  4. Place one dough square in the bottom of the baking dish. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over it, then layer pepperoni slices evenly. Repeat layering dough squares, cheese, and pepperoni until all dough squares are used, ending with a top layer of dough.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes (if using), and a pinch of salt.
  6. Brush the garlic butter mixture generously over the top layer of dough squares, making sure to get into the edges.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until sliders are puffed and the top is golden brown and slightly crisp. If the top browns too fast, tent loosely with foil.
  8. In the last 5 minutes of baking, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top to melt.
  9. Remove from oven and let sliders rest for 5 minutes to allow cheese to settle.
  10. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top and serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping if desired.

Notes

For extra gooey sliders, tuck small mozzarella sticks or provolone slices between some layers before baking. Watch oven temperature closely as it can vary; start checking at 18 minutes to avoid burning the glaze. Let sliders rest 5 minutes after baking for easier pulling apart and safer eating. You can swap pepperoni for turkey pepperoni or add veggies for variations. Use gluten-free dough for a gluten-free version.
