Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) red flavored gelatin (cherry or strawberry)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • ½ cup (120 ml) vodka (adjust to taste)
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) unflavored gelatin
  • ½ cup (120 ml) cold water
  • ½ cup (120 ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) vodka
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) blue flavored gelatin (blue raspberry or blueberry)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • ½ cup (120 ml) vodka
  • Non-stick spray or a bit of oil for greasing the shot cups or mold
  • Clear plastic shot cups or silicone molds (about 1-ounce size)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Red Layer: Dissolve 1 package of red gelatin powder in 1 cup boiling water. Stir until fully dissolved (about 2 minutes). Add ½ cup vodka and mix gently. Pour about 1 tablespoon of this mixture into each shot cup. Refrigerate for 20-25 minutes until firm but slightly tacky.
  2. Prepare the White Layer: Sprinkle unflavored gelatin over ½ cup cold water and let bloom for 5 minutes. Warm sweetened condensed milk gently (do not boil). Add bloomed gelatin to warm milk and stir until dissolved. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature. Stir in ¼ cup vodka. Carefully layer this over the red gelatin in each cup. Refrigerate for 20-25 minutes until set.
  3. Prepare the Blue Layer: Dissolve blue gelatin powder in 1 cup boiling water. Stir for 2 minutes. Add ½ cup vodka and mix. Slowly add the blue layer on top of the white layer without disturbing it. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until fully set.
  4. Serve: Once layers are firm, keep chilled until serving.

Notes

Pour layers slowly and allow each to set until firm but tacky to prevent mixing. Cool the white layer mixture before adding vodka to avoid melting the red layer. Use clear cups to monitor layering. For non-alcoholic versions, substitute vodka with lemon-lime soda or cold water. Dairy-free white layer can be made with coconut milk and agar agar.
