These fun Halloween mummy crescent hot dogs are a quick, easy, and playful snack perfect for toddlers and parties. Wrapped in flaky crescent dough with tangy mustard eyes, they bring a cozy, nostalgic Halloween vibe to any table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 standard 8-ounce can crescent roll dough (about 226 grams)
  • 8 mini hot dogs or cocktail wieners (about 2 ounces or 56 grams each)
  • Yellow mustard for eyes
  • Optional: cooking spray or butter for greasing the baking sheet

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with butter or spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough carefully on a clean surface. Press all the perforations together gently to avoid the dough pulling apart while wrapping.
  3. Cut the dough into thin strips, about 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) wide, using a pizza cutter or sharp knife.
  4. Wrap each mini hot dog with the dough strips, leaving a small gap near one end to create a ‘face’ area for the mustard eyes. Overlap the dough strips loosely to mimic mummy bandages.
  5. Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch (2.5 cm) apart.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and puffed up.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes to set the dough.
  8. Use a toothpick or the tip of a small spoon to dot yellow mustard eyes on the exposed ‘face’ area of each mummy.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy! Reheat leftovers in a toaster oven or conventional oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes if desired.

Notes

Let crescent dough come to room temperature before cutting to avoid tearing. Wrap dough strips loosely for a classic mummy look. Use mustard eyes or substitute with ketchup, cream cheese, or olives for variation. Chill dough briefly if too sticky. Reheat in oven or toaster oven to keep dough crisp; avoid microwaving.
