A quick and elegant snack combining sweet cantaloupe, silky prosciutto, and a gentle honey drizzle for a refreshing and satisfying treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 small to medium fresh cantaloupe, ripe but firm
  • 810 thin slices of quality prosciutto (e.g., San Daniele or Parma)
  • 23 tablespoons mild floral honey (local or clover honey recommended)
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
  • Freshly ground black pepper (optional, a pinch)

Instructions

  1. Wash the cantaloupe under cold water. Cut it in half, scoop out the seeds with a spoon, then slice into 1-inch thick wedges or 2-inch cubes.
  2. Take one slice of prosciutto and gently wrap it around each cantaloupe piece. Cut prosciutto in half lengthwise if slices are large.
  3. Arrange the wrapped cantaloupe pieces evenly on a serving platter.
  4. Drizzle honey lightly over each bundle using a spoon or squeeze bottle, avoiding soaking the melon.
  5. Optionally, garnish with fresh mint leaves and add a pinch of freshly ground black pepper.

Notes

Use ripe but firm cantaloupe for best texture. Assemble just before serving to prevent prosciutto from becoming soggy. Thinly sliced prosciutto is essential for a silky texture. Drizzle honey sparingly and evenly.
