These festive layered jello shots combine vibrant red, white, and blue layers with a perfect balance of sweetness and a little kick, ideal for patriotic celebrations and fun gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Red Layer: 1 cup cranberry juice (unsweetened or lightly sweetened)
  • 1 packet (3 oz) strawberry or cherry-flavored gelatin
  • ½ cup vodka (can substitute with flavored vodka)
  • White Layer: 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 packet (3 oz) unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup water (divided)
  • ¼ cup vodka
  • Blue Layer: 1 cup blueberry juice or blueberry-flavored gelatin dissolved in 1 cup water
  • 1 packet (3 oz) blue raspberry gelatin
  • 1 packet (3 oz) unflavored gelatin (if using juice)
  • ½ cup vodka
  • Additional: Non-stick spray or a little oil (to grease shot cups or molds)
  • Optional: Fresh blueberries or strawberries for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Red Layer: Heat ½ cup cranberry juice over low heat until warm (not boiling). Stir in the strawberry or cherry gelatin packet until fully dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in the remaining ½ cup cranberry juice and ½ cup vodka. Let cool slightly before pouring into prepared shot cups or molds, filling about one-third of each cup. Refrigerate for 30-40 minutes or until firm.
  2. Make the White Layer: Sprinkle unflavored gelatin over ½ cup cold water and let bloom for 5 minutes. Warm the other ½ cup water over low heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until dissolved. In a separate bowl, mix sweetened condensed milk with ¼ cup vodka. Slowly whisk the gelatin mixture into the milk until fully combined. Once the red layer is firm, gently pour the white mixture over it, filling the next third of the cups. Chill for 40-50 minutes until set.
  3. Prepare the Blue Layer: If using blueberry juice, heat ½ cup juice gently and dissolve the blue raspberry gelatin and unflavored gelatin in it. Add the remaining ½ cup juice and ½ cup vodka. Let cool slightly. Once the white layer is firm, carefully pour the blue mixture over it, filling the remaining space in the cups. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight to fully set.
  4. Finishing Touches: Just before serving, garnish each shot with a fresh blueberry or a small strawberry slice if desired.

Notes

Pour each layer slowly over the back of a spoon to keep layers from mixing. Let each layer chill until firm before adding the next to maintain distinct layers. Bloom gelatin in cold liquid before heating to avoid lumps. Use silicone molds for easy removal. For non-alcoholic versions, substitute vodka with sparkling water or extra juice. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; avoid freezing.
