A fun and colorful layered jello shot recipe perfect for patriotic celebrations, featuring strawberry, creamy white, and blue raspberry layers with vodka.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) strawberry or cherry flavored gelatin powder
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka or clear spirit of your choice
  • 1 envelope (0.25 oz / 7 g) unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold water
  • 1 can (14 oz / 396 g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka or white rum
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) blue raspberry flavored gelatin powder
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka or clear spirit
  • Optional garnishes: fresh berries (blueberries, strawberries), mini American flags or themed picks

Instructions

  1. Prepare the red layer: In a mixing bowl, pour 1 cup boiling water over the strawberry gelatin powder, whisking until fully dissolved (about 2 minutes). Stir in 1/2 cup vodka. Pour evenly into shot glasses, filling about one-third full. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes or until firm but slightly tacky.
  2. Create the white creamy layer: Sprinkle unflavored gelatin over 1/2 cup cold water and let bloom for 5 minutes. Heat gently until dissolved (about 30 seconds). In a separate bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk and 1/2 cup vodka. Slowly whisk dissolved gelatin into milk mixture. Let cool slightly (about 5 minutes) but not set. Carefully spoon or pour over red layer, filling to about two-thirds. Refrigerate for 30 minutes until set.
  3. Mix the blue layer: Dissolve blue raspberry gelatin powder in 1 cup boiling water, add 1/2 cup vodka, and let cool slightly. Gently pour over white layer, filling glasses almost to the top. Chill for at least 2 hours or until fully set.
  4. Serve: Garnish with fresh berries or themed picks. Keep refrigerated until serving.

Notes

Use a spoon held just above the previous layer to slow the pour and avoid mixing colors. Let each layer cool to just above room temperature before pouring to prevent melting the previous layer. Chill layers until firm but tacky before adding the next. Alcohol content should be moderate to ensure proper gelatin setting. For non-alcoholic versions, replace vodka with cold water or sparkling water. For dairy-free, substitute sweetened condensed milk with coconut milk but expect a different texture.
