These chewy, nutty, and just sweet enough peanut butter energy balls are packed with wholesome ingredients to keep kids energized. Quick to make with no baking required, they are perfect for a nutritious snack anytime.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup natural peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
  • 1 ½ cups old-fashioned rolled oats (toasted lightly)
  • ¼ cup honey (raw or organic)
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips (or raisins/dried cranberries)
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds (optional but recommended)

Instructions

  1. Toast the oats (optional but recommended): Heat a dry skillet over medium heat. Add the oats and stir frequently for about 3-5 minutes until golden and nutty. Set aside to cool.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine peanut butter and honey. Stir until smooth and well blended.
  3. Add the cooled toasted oats, chia seeds, and mini chocolate chips. Mix evenly until a sticky dough forms. Adjust texture with a teaspoon of water or more honey if too dry, or more oats if too wet.
  4. Roll the mixture into 1-inch diameter balls using hands or a small cookie scoop, making about 18-20 balls.
  5. Place the balls on a baking sheet or plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  6. Serve chilled or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week.

Notes

Toasting oats enhances flavor and texture. Use natural peanut butter for best results and stir well before measuring. Chilling is essential to firm up the balls and prevent crumbling. Adjust sweetness and texture by adding more honey or oats as needed. These freeze well for up to 3 months.
