A thick, velvety smoothie bowl combining peanut butter, banana, and protein powder for a quick, nourishing, and delicious breakfast that fuels your morning.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe medium bananas (frozen for extra creaminess if desired)
  • 3 tablespoons natural peanut butter (unsweetened, creamy preferred)
  • 1 scoop vanilla whey or plant-based protein powder
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or low-fat)
  • ½ cup unsweetened almond milk or milk of choice
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Toppings: sliced bananas, granola, chopped nuts, shredded coconut, fresh berries (optional)

Instructions

  1. If using fresh bananas, slice and freeze half for about 30 minutes to achieve creamy texture.
  2. Add 2 bananas (frozen or fresh), 3 tablespoons peanut butter, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, ½ cup Greek yogurt, and ½ cup unsweetened almond milk into a high-speed blender. Add chia seeds and vanilla extract if using.
  3. Blend starting on low speed, gradually increasing to high, for 1-2 minutes until smooth and thick, scraping down sides as needed.
  4. Adjust thickness by adding almond milk a tablespoon at a time if too thick, or adding frozen banana chunks or ice if too thin, blending briefly.
  5. Taste and add honey or maple syrup if additional sweetness is desired, then pulse briefly to combine.
  6. Pour smoothie into a bowl and add desired toppings such as sliced bananas, granola, chopped nuts, or fresh berries.
  7. Enjoy immediately for best texture and flavor.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for natural sweetness and creaminess. Freeze bananas for a thicker, ice-cream-like texture. Blend peanut butter with liquids first to avoid clumps. Choose a smooth vanilla protein powder to avoid gritty texture. Prepare frozen bananas and portion ingredients the night before for quicker mornings. Store leftovers in the fridge up to 24 hours and stir before eating. Avoid freezing the assembled bowl.
