A rich and creamy dip combining cream cheese, sharp cheddar, smoky bacon, and fresh green onions, perfect for parties and casual snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces (225g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (240ml) sour cream
  • 1½ cups (150g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
  • 3 stalks green onions, thinly sliced
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crisp, about 8-10 minutes. Drain on paper towels and crumble into small pieces. Alternatively, microwave bacon on a paper towel-lined plate for 4-6 minutes.
  3. Place softened cream cheese in a mixing bowl and beat with a hand or stand mixer until smooth and creamy, about 2 minutes.
  4. Mix in sour cream until fully combined and silky smooth.
  5. Add garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce (if using), black pepper, and salt to taste. Mix well.
  6. Gently fold in shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon, being careful not to overmix.
  7. Lightly grease an 8×8-inch (20x20cm) baking dish with butter or non-stick spray. Spoon the dip mixture evenly into the dish and smooth the top.
  8. Sprinkle thinly sliced green onions evenly over the top.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until bubbly and golden brown on the edges.
  10. Let the dip cool for 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Softening the cream cheese properly is key to avoid lumps. Fold in bacon and cheddar gently to keep texture. Watch the dip during the last 5 minutes of baking to avoid over-browning. Can be made ahead and baked fresh before serving. Leftovers keep well refrigerated for 3-4 days and reheat gently.
