These savory cocktail meatballs are coated in a sticky, tangy grape jelly BBQ sauce that balances sweetness with smoky flavors, perfect for quick snacks or parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound frozen cocktail meatballs or homemade meatballs (beef, pork, turkey)
  • 1 cup grape jelly (about 320 g)
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (240 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place 1 pound of frozen or pre-cooked meatballs in a large skillet over medium heat. If using fresh homemade meatballs, cook thoroughly until browned and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. In a bowl, combine 1 cup grape jelly and 1 cup BBQ sauce. Add 1 teaspoon garlic powder and a pinch of red pepper flakes if desired. Stir until smooth and glossy.
  3. Pour the sauce over the meatballs in the skillet. Reduce heat to low and simmer gently for 15-20 minutes, stirring every few minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the meatballs.
  4. Check sauce consistency: if too thick, add a splash of water or extra BBQ sauce; if too thin, simmer a few more minutes uncovered.
  5. Once glossy and heated through, transfer meatballs to a serving dish and serve warm.

Notes

Use a slow cooker for hands-off cooking by combining all ingredients and cooking on low for 2-3 hours. Stir occasionally to prevent sauce from sticking. Choose pre-cooked or firm homemade meatballs to prevent breaking apart. Adjust sweetness by balancing grape jelly and BBQ sauce. Serve warm with toothpicks for easy party serving. Leftovers keep well refrigerated for up to 4 days and freeze well.
