Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground turkey (preferably 93% lean)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for frying)
  • 8 small slider buns (brioche style recommended)
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced
  • 8 slices thick-cut bacon (or turkey bacon)
  • 8 small or torn lettuce leaves (romaine or butter lettuce)
  • 1 large tomato, sliced thin
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix gently and form into 8 small patties about 2.5 inches in diameter and ½ inch thick.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook bacon slices until crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
  3. Heat olive oil in the same skillet over medium-high heat. Cook turkey patties for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature 165°F). Avoid pressing patties. Optionally, add a splash of water and cover for the last minute to ensure tenderness.
  4. Slice slider buns in half and toast lightly in a dry pan or toaster oven until golden and slightly crisp.
  5. Slice avocado thinly and tomato into rounds. Wash and dry lettuce leaves.
  6. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise and Dijon mustard. Spread a thin layer on both top and bottom buns.
  7. Assemble sliders by layering lettuce, turkey patty, tomato slice, crispy bacon, and avocado slices on the bottom bun. Top with mayo-spread bun.
  8. Serve immediately while patties are warm and buns are crisp.

Notes

Do not overmix turkey to keep patties tender. Heat pan properly before cooking for a crispy crust. Let patties rest after cooking for juiciness. Toast buns in bacon fat for extra flavor. Use gluten-free buns or lettuce wraps for gluten-free option. Vegan mayo and bacon alternatives can be used for dairy-free or vegetarian versions.
