A quick and easy snack featuring sausages wrapped in puff pastry or crescent dough, coated with everything bagel seasoning for a crispy, savory bite perfect for parties and family gatherings.

  • 12 small hot dog sausages or 6 large sausages (all-beef preferred)
  • 1 package (17.3 oz / 490 g) puff pastry sheets or crescent roll dough, thawed if frozen
  • 2 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil or melted butter (optional, for brushing)
  • Optional dipping sauces: mustard, ketchup, spicy mayo (e.g., Dijon and honey mix)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  3. Unroll the puff pastry or crescent roll dough on a lightly floured surface. If using puff pastry, gently roll it out to smooth seams.
  4. Cut the dough into 12 strips about 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide for cocktail sausages or wider for larger sausages.
  5. Wrap each sausage tightly with a strip of dough, sealing edges by pinching the dough together.
  6. Place wrapped sausages seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Brush each wrapped sausage generously with beaten egg wash.
  8. Sprinkle about 1/2 teaspoon of everything bagel seasoning evenly over each wrapped sausage.
  9. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until dough is puffed and golden brown, checking after 12 minutes to avoid over-browning.
  10. Let cool slightly for 5 minutes before serving with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

Keep dough cold for easier handling. Use egg wash generously to help seasoning stick and achieve a golden crust. Avoid overcrowding baking sheet. Test one first to adjust baking time if needed. For extra crispiness, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end, watching closely. Can be made ahead and refrigerated up to 24 hours before baking. Freeze individually for up to 2 months.
