These crispy bacon-wrapped little smokies appetizers are an easy, crowd-pleasing snack perfect for parties and spontaneous get-togethers. The combination of smoky bacon and juicy little smokies creates a deliciously crunchy and savory bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 14 ounces (400g) little smokies sausages
  • 12 slices thin-cut bacon, uncooked
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • Toothpicks to secure bacon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, toss the 14 ounces of little smokies with 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and ½ teaspoon of freshly cracked black pepper.
  3. Cut the 12 bacon slices in half crosswise to get 24 pieces.
  4. Wrap one piece of bacon around each smokie, securing it with a toothpick through the middle.
  5. Arrange the bacon-wrapped smokies seam side down on a wire rack placed over a baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, checking after 15 minutes to ensure bacon is crispy but not burnt. Loosely tent with foil if edges crisp too fast.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

Use thin-cut bacon for best crispiness. Baking on a wire rack allows fat to drip away for a perfect crunch. Rotate pan halfway through baking for even cooking. Optional: brush with BBQ sauce before baking for a smoky glaze. Can be made ahead and refrigerated up to 24 hours before baking. Reheat in oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness; avoid microwaving.
