These crispy air fryer jalapeño poppers combine spicy jalapeños, creamy cheese, and crispy bacon for a quick and flavorful snack or appetizer perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 medium-sized fresh jalapeños
  • 12 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (100 g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Fresh black pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped fresh chives or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Slice each jalapeño in half lengthwise. Using a spoon, carefully scoop out seeds and membranes. Rinse and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  3. Using a spoon or small scoop, fill each jalapeño half generously with the cheese mixture, leveling with the edges but not overflowing.
  4. Wrap each stuffed jalapeño half with one slice of bacon, securing with a toothpick if needed.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Place the wrapped jalapeños in a single layer in the air fryer basket, skin side down if possible. Cook for 15 minutes, then flip carefully and cook for another 3-5 minutes until bacon is crispy and cheese filling is bubbly.
  7. Let the poppers cool for 2 minutes before serving.

Notes

Keep cream cheese at room temperature for easier mixing. Remove seeds and membranes from jalapeños to reduce heat. Wrap bacon tightly to prevent curling. Cook in batches if needed for even heat circulation. Reheat in air fryer at 350°F for 5-7 minutes to maintain crispiness. Avoid microwaving to prevent rubbery bacon.
