A quick and easy 5-ingredient dip that captures the classic Philly cheesesteak flavors with creamy provolone and sautéed veggies, perfect for game day or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450 g) lean ground beef
  • 8 oz (225 g) provolone cheese, shredded
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Optional: hot sauce or red pepper flakes to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spatula until browned and no longer pink, about 6–8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the finely chopped green bell pepper and onion to the skillet with the beef. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until veggies are soft and fragrant.
  3. Sprinkle in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to taste. Stir well to combine.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and shredded provolone. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  5. Add the beef and veggie mixture to the cheese blend. Stir thoroughly until evenly mixed. Add hot sauce or red pepper flakes if desired.
  6. Return the mixture to the skillet or transfer to an oven-safe dish. Warm gently over low heat or bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve warm with crackers, sliced baguette, or veggie sticks.

Notes

If dip is too thick, stir in a tablespoon of milk or beef broth to loosen. Avoid overheating to prevent cheese separation. Drain excess fat after browning beef for best texture. Softened cream cheese blends more smoothly.
