A creamy, cheesy crab and artichoke dip with Old Bay seasoning that’s perfect for parties and quick to prepare. This dip combines tender crab meat, tangy artichokes, and a blend of cheeses for a crowd-pleasing appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces lump crab meat (fresh or canned, picked over for shells)
  • 1 cup artichoke hearts, chopped (canned or jarred, drained well)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened (full-fat recommended)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Black pepper to taste (freshly ground preferred)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Drain and chop the artichoke hearts into bite-sized pieces. Pat dry with paper towels to avoid watery dip.
  3. In a medium bowl, soften the cream cheese by beating it with a hand mixer or spoon until smooth and creamy, about 2 minutes.
  4. Add mayonnaise, Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, and fresh lemon juice to the cream cheese. Mix until fully combined and silky smooth.
  5. Gently fold in the lump crab meat and chopped artichokes, taking care not to break up the crab too much.
  6. Sprinkle in the Parmesan and mozzarella cheeses, then fold them through to evenly distribute.
  7. Season with freshly ground black pepper to taste (start with about 1/4 teaspoon and adjust as needed).
  8. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula for even baking.
  9. Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes, until the top is bubbly and golden brown.
  10. Remove from oven and let it cool slightly for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Drain artichokes thoroughly and pat crab meat dry if wet to avoid watery dip. For extra browning, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end but watch closely to prevent burning. Can substitute mayo with Greek yogurt for lighter version or use vegan alternatives for a vegan twist. Serve warm with pita chips, sliced baguette, or vegetable sticks.
